Sri Lanka Crab

Sri Lanka Crabs are huge in size, compared to any other crab from elsewhere. Someone once told me a tale explaining why Sri Lanka's crab is so big. The story goes like this: As Sri Lanka people are very poor, they usually throw the corpse of the people who passed away into the river, and the corpse become food for the crabs, that is why the crab is so big. For quite a while, I am hesitatance to eat Sri Lanka's crab.

There is a tourist from Sri Lanka who visited our shop. I took the opportunity to clarify this matter with him. This is his version of the explanation : The Sri Lanka's crab is usually breed in the Lagoon. Inside the Lagoon, there are fishes as their feedstock. Nearby the Lagoon, there are other animals, it is possible some corpse of these animal are available hence, the crabs can grow so well.

Well, happy with the answer? Will see if there are any other version of the story.
